Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2042of 19 July 2024approving Union amendments to the specification for a protected designation of origin (Murfatlar) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products and repealing Council Regulations (EEC) No 922/72, (EEC) No 234/79, (EC) No 1037/2001 and (EC) No 1234/2007OJ L 347, 20.12.2013, p. 671, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2013/1308/oj., and in particular Article 99(1) thereof,Whereas:(1)In accordance with Article 90(1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1143 of the European Parliament and of the CouncilRegulation (EU) 2024/1143 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 April 2024 on geographical indications for wine, spirit drinks and agricultural products, as well as traditional specialities guaranteed and optional quality terms for agricultural products, amending Regulations (EU) No 1308/2013, (EU) No 2019/787 and (EU) 2019/1753 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 (OJ L, 2024/1143, 23.4.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1143/oj)., which deleted, among others, Articles 96 to 99 and Article 105 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013, those Articles remain applicable to the applications for approval of a Union amendment of the product specification of geographical indications received by the Commission and published in the Official Journal of the European Union before 13 May 2024.(2)The Commission has examined the application for the approval of Union amendments to the product specification for the protected designation of origin "Murfatlar", forwarded by Romania in accordance with Article 97(2) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 in conjunction with Article 105(3), first subparagraph, of that Regulation.(3)The Commission has published the application for the approval of the Union amendments to the product specification in the Official Journal of the European UnionOJ C, C/2024/2470, 2.4.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/C/2024/2470/oj., as required by Article 97(4) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 in conjunction with Article 105(3), first subparagraph, of that Regulation.(4)No reasoned statement of objection has been received by the Commission under Article 98 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013.(5)In accordance with Article 99(1) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2021/2117 of the European Parliament and of the CouncilRegulation (EU) 2021/2117 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2 December 2021 amending Regulations (EU) No 1308/2013 establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products, (EU) No 1151/2012 on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs, (EU) No 251/2014 on the definition, description, presentation, labelling and the protection of geographical indications of aromatised wine products and (EU) No 228/2013 laying down specific measures for agriculture in the outermost regions of the Union (OJ L 435, 6.12.2021, p. 262, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2021/2117/oj)., the examination procedure referred to in Article 229(2) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 does not apply to decisions concerning applications for approval of a Union amendment of the product specification of geographical indications received by the Commission after 7 December 2021, for which the Commission has not received an admissible reasoned statement of objection,HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
