Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/2552of 12 December 2022laying down the technical specifications of data requirements for the detailed topic industrial production statistics establishing the industrial products classification breakdown, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council and amending Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1197, as regards the coverage of the product classification(Text with EEA relevance) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 November 2019 on European business statistics, repealing 10 legal acts in the field of business statisticsOJ L 327, 17.12.2019, p. 1., and in particular Article 7(1) thereof,Whereas:(1)Member States are to carry out a statistical survey of industrial production.(2)The survey is to be based on a list of products identifying the relevant industrial production.(3)A list of products is necessary for the alignment between production statistics and external trade statistics and for the comparison with the Union product nomenclature CPA (Classification of Products by Activity).(4)The industrial products classification breakdown (the "PRODCOM list"), is common to all Member States, and is necessary for the purposes of the comparability of data across Member States.(5)In order to reflect the technological development and structural changes of the industrial production, it is necessary to establish an updated industrial products classification breakdown.(6)It is also necessary to amend Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1197Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1197 of 30 July 2020 laying down technical specifications and arrangements pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council on European business statistics repealing 10 legal acts in the field of business statistics (OJ L 271, 18.8.2020, p. 1). as regards the coverage of the industrial products classification breakdown to include recovery of materials.(7)The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the European Statistical System Committee,HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
