Commission Regulation (EC) No 1918/2006of 20 December 2006opening and providing for the administration of tariff quota for olive oil originating in Tunisia
Article 1Regulation (EC) No 1291/2000, Regulation (EC) No 1345/2005 and Regulation (EC) No 1301/2006 shall apply without prejudice to the provisions of this Regulation.
Article 21.A tariff quota, bearing order number No 09.4032 is opened in relation to imports into the Community of virgin olive oil falling within CN codes 15091010 and 15091090, wholly obtained in Tunisia and transported directly from that country to the Community, subject to the conditions laid down in this Regulation. The volume of the tariff quota shall be 56700 tons. The rate of duty applicable shall be 0 %.2.The quota shall be opened from 1 January each year.3.For the purposes of calculating the quantity authorised for each month, where a week begins in one month and finishes in the following month, it must be considered as part of the month in which the Thursday falls.
Article 31.By way of derogation from Article 6(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1301/2006, applicants may lodge one import licence application each week, either on Monday or Tuesday.2.The Member States shall notify the Commission each week of the quantities for which licence applications have been lodged, on the working day following Tuesday. Notifications shall be broken down by CN code.3.Import licences shall be issued by the competent authorities of the Member States on the fourth working day following the end of the notification period provided for in paragraph 2.4.The import licence shall be valid from the actual day of its issue, in accordance with Article 22(2) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 376/2008Commission Regulation (EC) No 376/2008 of 23 April 2008 laying down common detailed rules for the application of the system of import and export licences and advance fixing certificates for agricultural products (OJ L 114, 26.4.2008, p. 3)., until the last day of the import tariff quota period.The amount of the security shall be EUR 20 per 100 kg net.
Article 4Regulation (EC) No 312/2001 is repealed.
Article 5This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.It shall apply from 1 January 2007.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
