Regulation as last amended by Regulation (EC) No 1726/2003 (OJ L 249, 1.10.2003, p. 1)., and in particular Article 11 thereof,Whereas:(1)Regulation (EC) No 417/2002 is based on the definitions and standards detailed in Annex I of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (hereinafter "the Marpol Convention").(2)On 4 December 2003, the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organisation adopted a number of amendments to Annex I to the Marpol Convention. Those amendments will come into force on 5 April 2005.(3)The references in Regulation (EC) No 417/2002 to Annex I to the Marpol Convention have to be updated in the light of those amendments.(4)The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Committee on Safe Seas and the Prevention of Pollution from Ships,HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
