Commission Regulation (EC) No 908/2004of 29 April 2004adapting several regulations concerning the common organisation of the market in wine by reason of the accession of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia to the European UnionTHE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community,Having regard to the Treaty of Accession of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia, and in particular Article 2(3) thereof,Having regard to the Act of Accession of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia, and in particular Article 57(2) thereof,Whereas:(1)Certain technical amendments are necessary in several Commission Regulations concerning the common organisation of the market in wine in order to carry out the necessary adaptations by reason of the accession of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia (hereinafter referred to as "the new Member States") to the European Union.(2)Article 52(1) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 1623/2000 of 25 July 2000 laying down detailed rules for implementing Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 on the common organisation of the market in wine with regard to market mechanismsOJ L 194, 31.7.2000, p. 45. Regulation last amended by Regulation (EC) No 1710/2003 (OJ L 243, 27.9.2003, p. 98). lays down reference periods for the producing Member States. Such reference period should be determined for the new Member States.(3)Article 2(1) and Article 11(2) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 883/2001 of 24 April 2001 laying down detailed rules for implementing Council Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 as regards trade with third countries in products in the wine sectorOJ L 128, 10.5.2001, p. 1. Regulation last amended by Regulation (EC) No 2338/2003 (OJ L 346, 31.12.2003, p. 28). contain certain entries in all the languages of the Member States. Those provisions should include the language versions of the new Member States.(4)Article 33 of Regulation (EC) No 883/2001 and Annexes I and IV thereto contain references to some of the new Member States as third countries. Those references should be deleted.(5)Article 8(2) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 884/2001 of 24 April 2001 laying down detailed rules of application concerning the documents accompanying the carriage of wine products and the records to be kept in the wine sectorOJ L 128, 10.5.2001, p. 32. Regulation amended by Regulation (EC) No 1782/2002 (OJ L 270, 8.10.2002, p. 4). contains an entry in all the languages of the Member States. That provision should include the language versions of the new Member States.(6)Article 16(1) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 753/2002 of 29 April 2002 laying down certain rules for applying Council Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 as regards the description, designation, presentation and protection of certain wine sector productsOJ L 118, 4.5.2002, p. 1. Regulation last amended by Regulation (EC) No 316/2004 (OJ L 55, 24.2.2004, p. 16). contains certain entries in all the languages of the Member States. Those provisions should include the language versions of the new Member States.(7)Annex VIII to that Regulation contains a reference to Hungary as a third country. That reference should be deleted.(8)Regulations (EC) No 1623/2000, No 883/2001, No 884/2001 and No 753/2002 should therefore be amended accordingly,HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
