maintaining in effect the interim measures adopted with regard to imports of certain textile products originating in the Federal Republic of Brazil
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,
Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, and in particular Article 113 thereof,
Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1439/74 of 4 June 1974 on common rules for imports [1], and in particular Article 13 thereof,
Having consulted the Committee provided for in Article 5 of the said Regulation,
Having regard to the proposal from the Commission,
Whereas by Regulation (EEC) No 3355/75 [2] the Commission established interim measures with regard to imports of certain textile products originating in the Federal Republic of Brazil ;
Whereas the reasons which justified the establishment of the said measures still exist and they should therefore be maintained in force until the entry into forceof the Council Regulation applying the import rules which may result from the Agreement to be negotiated between the European Economic Community and the Federal Republic of Brazil on Trade in Textiles, or, in default thereof, of other appropriate measures to be taken by the Council,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION :
Article 1
The interim measures adopted by Regulation (EEC) No 3355/75 with regard to imports of certain textile products originating in the Federal Republic of Brazil shall continue to apply temporarily.
Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
