(OJ L 269, 17.8.2020, p. 2, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg_impl/2020/1201/oj). has been applied since August 2020 with the aim to prevent the introduction into and the further spread within the Union of Xylella fastidiosa (Wells et al.) ("the specified pest").(2)Following the surveys carried out pursuant to Article 10 of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201, Italy has confirmed that the eradication of the specified pest in the municipalities of Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Monopoli, Polignano a Mare and Putignano in the province of Bari and in the municipality of Fasano in the province of Taranto is no longer possible.(3)Those municipalities should be thus added to the respective list of infected zones under containment, as set out in Annex III to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201, concerning the provinces of Taranto and Bari.(4)Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201 should therefore be amended accordingly.(5)The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed,HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1Amendments to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201Annex III to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201 is amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation.Article 2Entry into forceThis Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.Done at Brussels, 15 May 2024.For the CommissionThe PresidentUrsula von der LeyenANNEXAnnex III, Part A to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201, is amended as follows:(1)In point 3, "Municipalities located in the province of Taranto": "Fasano" is inserted after "Faggiano".(2)Point 4 is replaced by the following:"4.Municipalities located in the province of Bari:AlberobelloCastellana GrotteLocorotondoMonopoliPolignano a MarePutignano".
