Commission Regulation (EC) No 993/2001of 4 May 2001amending Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 laying down provisions for the implementation of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92 establishing the Community Customs Code(Text with EEA relevance)Article 1Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 is amended as follows:Article 21.This Regulation shall enter into force on the seventh day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.2.Points 1 to 30 and 32 to 38 of Article 1 shall apply from 1 July 2001.3.Each authorisation granting the status of authorised consignee shall comply with Article 408a of Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 by a date decided by the customs authorities, and at the latest by 31 March 2004.This subparagraph does not apply to transit operations where the authorised consignee receives goods using simplified procedures referred to in Article 372(1)(g).Before 1 January 2004, the Commission shall evaluate the implementation of Article 408a of Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 in relation to Articles 367 to 371 of that Regulation. The evaluation will be based on a report drawn up from contributions of the Member States. The Commission may decide on this basis and in accordance with the committee procedure if and subject to what conditions a deferral of the date mentioned in first subparagraph is necessary.This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
